One year ago this week, Pope Francis declared a Year of St. Joseph “to perpetuate the entrustment of the whole Church to the powerful patronage of the Guardian of Jesus.” While the yearlong celebration officially ends Dec. 8, the feast of the Immaculate Conception, St. Joseph remains a model and intercessor for Knights everywhere. This week also marks the 80th anniversary of Imperial Japan’s surprise attack on the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor, where Knights were among the military personnel bravely serving.

St. Joseph: Our Spiritual Father To aid councils and their families in fostering devotion to the Guardian of the Holy Family, the new Knights of Columbus-produced documentary St. Joseph: Our Spiritual Father will be available to view online at kofc.org/stjoseph starting Dec. 8. Featuring powerful testimonials and interviews with leading experts and theologians, the film provides viewers with a glimpse into the life of one of the Church’s greatest saints —  and how his spiritual fatherhood remains open to all of us. Silver Rose at the Border Every year, Knights of Columbus councils reaffirm their commitment to the sanctity of life while honoring the Blessed Mother through the Order’s Silver Rose program. Along several routes from Canada to Mexico, Knights steward the roses and, at each stop, local communities pray for the defense of life. During the program’s 60th anniversary last year, Texas Knights handed off the silver rose to Knights from Mexico at the international border in Laredo, Dec. 9, 2020. The silver rose was later present at a Mass on the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Dec. 12) at the basilica dedicated to her in Monterrey, Mexico. WATCH VIDEO

Witnessing to the Power of Christ Evangelization is a call to all Christians to live the faith and to share it with others. “My question is, do you love the people you see? Do you love the people you encounter?” asks Ryan Young, who is featured in the Order’s Into the Breach video series. “And if you love them, why would you not want them to know the truth and to come into the reality of Jesus Christ?” READ MORE
