Many low-income families use their scarce resources to meet the most basic essentials and they need help to provide this vital winter necessity. \nThat’s why the Knights of Columbus developed the Coats for Kids program\, which allows councils across North America the opportunity to purchase new winter coats for children at a discount and to distribute them to children in need in their local communities. \nThrough our Coats for Kids program\, 1\,780 local councils distributed 87\,906 coats to children in need throughout the United States and Canada in 2016. Since the program began in 2009\, nearly 400\,000 coats have been distributed.

DESCRIPTION:Council Elections\n	Council #3162 Officer elections will be coming soon. We are accepting nominations for the Columbian year 2021-22. If you are a 3rd Degree Brother Knight in good standing\, we encourage you to consider an officer position and make a difference for your council.\nThe following positions are elected:\nGrand Knight – Presides over all meetings. Appoints program and membership directors. Appoints committees as needed. Countersigns checks and orders for payment.\nResponsible for the council’s First Degree Team. \nDeputy Grand Knight – Assists the grand knight with operation of the council and any other duties assigned to him by the GK. In the absence of the grand knight\, presides at\ncouncil meetings. Recommended to serve on the council’s Retention Committee. \nChancellor – Has the duty of strengthening the members’ interest in council activities.\nAssists the grand knight and deputy grand knight with their duties as assigned. Recommended to serve on the council’s Admission Committee.  \nRecorder – Responsible for keeping and maintaining a true and permanent record of all actions of the council and maintains all correspondence of the council. \nTreasurer – Charged with handling council funds. Receives money from financial secretary and deposits it in the proper council accounts. Responsible for paying all council expenses. \nAdvocate – Acts as parliamentarian for the council. Should have a working knowledge of Robert’s Rules of Order and Methods of Conducting a Council Meeting. When needed\, will seek legal assistance from the state advocate.	 \nWarden – Responsible for supervising and maintaining all council property. Sets up council chambers for meetings and degree exemplifications. Oversees inside and outside guards. \nInside Guard/ Outside Guard – Attend the doors of the council chamber\, checking for current membership cards and allowing entrance.	 \nTrustees – Supervises all financial business of the council and conducts the semiannual audits. Trustees are elected for terms of three years\, two years and one year.  \nCouncil #3162 needs a dedicated group of officers to continue the productive charitable programs into the next fraternal year. DESCRIPTION:BKs who want to obtain full knighthood\,\nYou will have an opportunity to obtain your 3rd Degree next Saturday\, May 15th. You can register and view the ceremony online\, with your family\, from the comfort of your home. For 1st or 2nd Degree members\, click on the “Register Now” button below and register as a “Candidate”.  The Chapter is San Diego.For 3rd Degree members who would like to view the online Exemplification\, please register as a Guest. Let me know if you have any questions.\nFraternally\,\nBuster Beazley\nCouncil #3162 FS\n\n\n\n\n\nVirtual Exemplification of Charity\, Unity and Fraternity\nJoin us for a webinar on May 15\, 2021 at 10:30 AM PDT.\n\nRegister now!\n\n\nThis exemplification webinar of Charity\, Unity and Fraternity will be a virtual presentation and is for anyone statewide who desires to do this ceremony online. Do not register for this event if you will be attending a physical location to observe the ceremony. Grand Knights or Financial Secretaries should forward this invitation to prospective new members and to 1st and 2nd Degree members. Be certain to advise the candidate of your council number and Chapter name as they will not be able to register without it. \nTo the registrants\, this registration link is unique to you and please do not share this with any other person after you registered. This prevents duplication under your name. You will receive an acknowledgement immediately after submitting the request that shows an option to check system requirements. You will receive the confirmation of registration response by email. Please retain and use that confirmation for joining on the day of the exemplification. It will have an entry link entitled “Join Webinar” that you must use to enter the session. If you delay registration to the day of the event\, you may not be able to attend. \nThis is a public ceremonial and you are encouraged to have your family view the ceremony. You will be able to share with them a better understanding of what knighthood is about and what is expected of you as a Knight. \nIt is highly recommended that you attend using computer access. If you use phone or shared computer to access the ceremony\, you will receive notification 24 hours after the session stating that you did not attend and it will provide instructions on how to confirm your attendance. \nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.\nView System Requirements
