“Tee Off in Style: Goat Hill Park Foursome with Cart – $360 Value!”
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to an extraordinary opportunity to support a true gem of Oceanside—Goat Hill Park, the people’s park and a historic cornerstone of San Diego County since 1952. Remember proceeds go to our beneficiaries. This isn’t just a golf course; it’s a vibrant community hub with breathtaking ocean views, a raw golf feel, and an inclusive spirit that welcomes everyone—from beginners to pros, kids to seniors, and even your furry friends. Known as “Goat Hill” to locals, this 18-hole short course, redesigned by Ludwig Keehn in the 1990s, offers a unique challenge and a relaxed vibe that’s hard to find anywhere else. Protected as public land thanks to the Lacey family’s vision in the 1980s, Goat Hill Park has weathered threats of redevelopment and mismanagement. In 2014, our community made national headlines, rallying at a historic Town Hall to save this 75-acre treasure from being paved over. Since then, under the passionate leadership of local resident John Ashworth and Geoff Cunningham of Linksoul, Goat Hill has undergone a remarkable transformation. Course conditions have improved, a free 3-hole kids’ course called the Playground was built, a championship disc golf course was added, and the welcoming atmosphere—complete with music, no dress code, and a “World Class / Working Class” motto—has made it a haven for all. But we’re not done yet. Our mission is to fully renovate, maintain, and operate Goat Hill Park as the “Central Park” of Oceanside—a place where the community can enjoy affordable golf, recreation, and connection. It’s also the permanent home of the North County Junior Golf Association and Caddie Academy, fostering leadership, education, and job opportunities for Oceanside’s youth. Today’s silent auction is your chance to be part of this legacy. By bidding on our exclusive items—[insert examples like golf packages, local business vouchers, or unique Goat Hill memorabilia]—you’re directly supporting the continued restoration of Goat Hill Park. Every dollar raised helps us preserve this historic landscape, enhance community programs, and keep the park accessible for generations to come. So, grab a bidding sheet, place your bids, and let’s keep Goat Hill Park thriving as a place where everyone is welcome, from age 3 to 103. Together, we can ensure this beloved park remains a cornerstone of Oceanside’s heart and soul. Thank you for your support!
